DIY PROJECTS · PRINT + ELECTRONICS
A glowing home for your favourite set. Print the two-part stand, wire a Pico and a 24-LED ring, then choose your colour with one button.

01 / LIGHT, YOUR WAY
The stand remembers your last colour, effect and brightness. On first power-up it starts in white, Normal mode at 1% brightness, with a soft fade-in.
Cycle through white, warm white, rainbow, blue, red, green, yellow and purple.
Choose 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 or 40%. The ring briefly shows the selected level.
Switch between steady Normal light, a gentle Breathing pulse and a rotating three-LED Carousel.
Choose off, 1, 2, 3 or 5 hours. The ring signals the setting and fades out when time is up.
Hold to fade out; click once to return to your saved light setting. The Pico stays powered while the LEDs are off.

02 / THE BUILD
Download the Pico firmware here. The printed box and translucent lid are provided through MakerWorld.
The box is approximately 95 × 95 × 27 mm. The 91 mm lid is only 0.4 mm thick and should be printed in light-diffusing PLA. Check the fit and print orientation in your slicer.
Get print files on MakerWorldHold BOOTSEL while plugging in the Pico. Release it when the RPI-RP2 drive appears, then copy the UF2 onto that drive. The Pico restarts automatically.
03 / PARTS LIST
These are the electronic components for the build. The printed box and lid are listed separately on MakerWorld above.
04 / CONNECTIONS
Install and secure the button in the enclosure before soldering any wires. Then follow the wiring diagram for the Pico, LED ring and button. The LED ring uses Pico VBUS for +5 V and shares ground with the Pico. Never connect 5 V to a GPIO or the 3V3 pin.

Electrical safety: Wiring and electrical assembly should be carried out only by a qualified electrician. Build and use are at your own risk; no liability is assumed for damage or injury.
05 / ASSEMBLY
Start by installing the button before soldering; then fit the remaining components before closing the enclosure with the translucent lid.
Insert the 12 mm push button into the enclosure opening and secure it before soldering its wires.
Position the 24-LED ring under the lid. If it does not stay in place, fix it with a small amount of cyanoacrylate adhesive and let it cure fully.
Fasten the Pico with 2–4 M2 screws, 4–8 mm long. Tighten gently and keep wires clear of the button and lid.
Have the wiring checked against the diagram, then connect the Pico to a suitable 5 V powerbank with a USB cable. The ring receives +5 V from Pico VBUS as shown above.
